Here's a fun clip from the spectacular premiere of Warner Brothers' all-star Western in the real-life Dodge City, KS. Hundreds of thousands of spectators came out to gawk at stars like Errol Flynn, Humphrey Bogart and Ann Sheridan. My takeaways:
*Based on the crowds, the premiere was the most exciting thing that ever happened in Kansas.
*Errol Flynn can ride a horse.
*Check out Bogie, looking like Sam Spade of the Great Plains, complete with trench coat, fedora and pipe.
*Olivia de Havilland wasn't there because she was filming Gone With the Wind (1939).

Many of these livery stables would have a blacksmith for repairs to horseshoes and buggies and a stable hand to curry the horses (think maintenance department). https://www.ontariochrysler.ca/
