Coming in July

We'll continue the Summer of Darkness next month on Old Hollywood Films.

Here's what's coming up in July, schedule permitting:
-I'll continue my look at director Billy Wilder's Double Indemnity (1944), starring Fred MacMurray and Barbara Stanwyck. TCM and Fathom Events are bringing this classic film noir to cinemas across the country on July 19 and 20. I'll have a viewer's guide plus more articles about Stanwyck, MacMurray, and Wilder. Here's an article about the real murder that inspired both the novel and film to get you started: http://www.oldhollywoodfilms.com/2015/06/the-real-murders-that-inspired-double.html
-I'll continue the Noir of the Week feature, which spotlights one film from the Summer of Darkness, TCM's film noir festival that airs every Friday in July.
-I'll celebrate Olivia de Havilland's 99th birthday on July 1 with a look at how the fan magazines covered her career.
-Old Hollywood Films will be part of the 1947 blogathon with a look Lady in the Lake, a highly distinctive film noir from director and star Robert Montgomery.
